Dr. Wieser was among five doctors featured in a recent Becker’s Spine Review article on “8 Steps for Spine Practices Considering a New Partner.”
He gave advice on getting to know a potential partner in real life, away from what they say on paper. Dr. Wieser gave key advice on checking an applicant’s references.
“Talk to candidates’ residency and fellowship directors. If they are coming from another practice, speak with their OR director,” he said.
He also suggested finding out more about an applicant than their professional qualities.
“A partnership has to have an element of teamwork to be successful. Search for candidates that have shown the ability to work well with others. Consider someone that is a former athlete,” says Dr. Wieser.
